Methle Methlak is a youth-led initiative dedicated to supporting the reintegration of juveniles and young adults following their release from Roumieh Central Prison. Recognizing the significant challenges these individuals face, Methle Methlak aims to alleviate the difficulties of re-entering society by providing essential services that address their unique needs. The initiative is committed to reducing all forms of discrimination and exploitation that these juveniles may encounter during their reintegration process. By offering a much-needed second chance, Methle Methlak fills the gap in services that are crucial for these young individuals to successfully transition back into society. Through a combination of advocacy, support, and practical assistance, Methle Methlak is working to create a more inclusive environment where former juvenile offenders can rebuild their lives and contribute positively to their communities.
The Impact Created
Methle Methlak is making a profound impact by offering crucial support to juveniles and young adults as they reintegrate into society after their release from Roumieh Central Prison. The initiative’s primary goal is to provide these individuals with a second chance by delivering essential services that ease the challenges of their reintegration journey. Over the past year, Methle Methlak has implemented several impactful projects with the support of organizations such as US MEPI, the US Embassy, and the Australian Embassy. These projects include awareness sessions that educate both the public and the juveniles on the issues they face, as well as life and employability skills training that equips them with the tools needed to succeed in life beyond prison. Additionally, Methle Methlak has conducted visits to Roumieh Central Prison in collaboration with UPEL, offering direct support and engagement with the juveniles. Through these efforts, Methle Methlak is not only helping to reduce the stigma and discrimination faced by former juvenile offenders but also actively contributing to their successful reintegration into society, thereby promoting social justice and reducing recidivism.
